Join Rhonda Koning, from the West Pasco Quilter’s Guild, for a “talk-a-bout” presentation of our quilt history and quilt makers in our community. We have many quilts – antique and modern – to share. The craft and art of quilt making is truly an American heritage, and our local quilt makers have many stories to tell about our quilting journey.Rhonda (and Bob) Koning are long standing members of the WPHS. Bob is representative of seven generations within the New Port Richey / Elfers area. Bob's great-great grandmother Gertrude Mizner was one of the first residents of the City of NPR. Rhonda is from the Orlando area and has been in NPR for over 32 years (since her marriage to Bob - as he is firmly planted in Pasco County). The Koning's are construction contractors and educators by trade and Rhonda has been a lifelong quilter and actively participating member of the West Pasco Quilters' Guild Inc. since 2000. She is an avid quilt maker and collector and has created many quilts - teaches quilting classes and has set a life goal to see the state of Florida establish an official museum of women's history, including quilting and textile arts.
