Rhetoric: The Art of PersuasionRhetoric draws on cultural, linguistic, literary, and legal traditions to appeal to emotions, enhance credibility, sway opinions, build consensus, and inspire action. Its influence stretches across public speaking, writing, advertising, politics, and law—shaping perception and guiding audiences not only to understand a thesis but also to embrace it and act upon it. At its highest level, rhetoric champions a better world while remaining rooted in ethical standards. In the juridical sphere, from oral and written submissions to reasoned judgment in particular, rhetoric demonstrates how words can influence justice and ultimately society itself. Judge Silvio Meli will be drawing on his past judicial experience to show how rhetoric is lived, practiced, and applied today. This is an opportunity to see persuasion in action—insightful, practical, and relevant to anyone who seeks to make their voice count.
