Time flies, and this is the second Chinese New Year Blues Dance Party. It’s a time to reflect on the memories and accomplishments of the past year and look forward to new beginnings. This year, we will welcome the Year of the Snake, a symbol of elegance, romance, and spirituality. Join us in celebrating the Chinese New Year with lively blues music and dancing!

The University Women’s Club of Vancouver (UWCV) was founded in 1907 by a group of university-educated women committed to advancing women’s rights and promoting education. Originally a space for intellectual and social engagement, the club grew to become a hub for progressive ideas and advocacy in Vancouver. In 1927, the club established its home in Hycroft, a stunning Edwardian heritage mansion in Shaughnessy.
The ballroom at Hycroft is perfect for dancing, and free parking is available.

$30 per person online in advance.
$35 per person at the door (Cash and e-transfer are available).
Suggested dress code -
Retro Hongkong, 80s-90s Vintage
Any oriental retro and disco styles, from those of a century ago to the trendy looks of the 1980s and 1990s, are welcome. Additionally, any other outfits or makeup featuring oriental or New Year celebration elements are also highly appreciated!
