This quartet follows in the tradition of smaller jazz ensembles drawing on the particularities of electric guitar centric bands. Khota’s compositions are harmonically expansive and the bands telepathic interpretations are rhythmically potent, always reaching out and inward within the groove. Coming from a foundation in rock, 70’s fusion
and jazz, the band is never far from gritty overdriven textures that recall the
psychedelic offerings of Hendrix or the Mahavishnu Orchestra—a sound that
drummer Jonno Sweetman demonstrably understands—referencing Bonham or Cobham. The band’s sonic palette also
explores the quieter, introspective realms, inviting the listener to discern subtlety, articulation and phrasing or just to float in the waves of sound.
