About The Film
Spontaneously shot during lockdown with an Iphone and limited resources, the independent feature film, Rex Bixby, captures a unique period of the pandemic and explores the hopelessness of the times.
The story follows Rex, an ambitious immersive VR developer whose career suddenly ends before an unexpected pandemic, leaving him disillusioned and adrift. Lost in isolation, Rex navigates the loss of his career and embarks on a transformative exploration of virtual realms, sparking a chain of events that will challenge his perception of reality. He falls into a virtual abyss, where memories intertwine with dreams, and the lines between past, present, and future become indistinguishable.
Through a kaleidoscope of experimental visuals and surreal sounds, the film explores themes of depression, self-discovery and the connection between creative-productivity and identity, and invites us to embrace the darker depths of the human imagination.
Created by two partners in the midst of pandemic uncertainty, the process of making this movie challenged its creators to confront their own fears and to sit with the loss of unfulfilled dreams.
