About this Event

The 21 Milestone: A Life Rewritten

Join Blue Bridge at Northeastern University’s Innovation Campus for a historic fireside chat that moves beyond theory into the reality of the genomic revolution. We are proud to feature the world’s first recipient of a base editing therapy for Sickle Cell Disease—a 21-year-old pioneer now celebrating 21 months of remission. This evening is designed to bridge the vital perspectives of the patient, the doctor, and the scientist, offering a 360-degree view of what it takes to bring a "genetic pencil" from the lab bench to a human life.

Attendees can expect an intimate look at the courage required to be a medical first, the clinical precision behind base editing, and the collaborative effort needed to make these cures accessible to all.

Through this dialogue, we explore why 21 months of health marks a monumental turning point for biotechnology and the Sickle Cell community. The session will conclude with an interactive Q&A and a networking reception where researchers, advocates, and industry leaders can connect to discuss the next frontier of medicine.

Advanced tickets are strongly recommended.
