Lawrence history is American history! And no place contains more compelling stories about our history than Oak Hill Cemetery.
This new walking tour will lead you on an unforgettable journey starting in the late 1700s. You’ll be introduced to several people who were born in that revolutionary era and grew up with the young American republic before settling in Lawrence. Meet soldiers, freedom seekers, pioneer women, and others as we walk to their graves in Oak Hill Cemetery and learn about their fascinating lives.
Tour goers will meet at Old Section 5 in the southeast corner of the cemetery. Tickets must be purchased in advance.
