About this Event
On Tuesday, September 17, 2024, the DISSIDENT club hosts the "Charity Festival" organized by the international organization Freedom Zone. The festival supports the relatives of Russian political prisoners. Our goal is to unite the international community concerned about the fate of those affected by the Russian regime, draw attention to these issues, and provide real assistance.
Organizers:
+ Ksenia Kagarlitskaya, daughter of sociologist Boris Kagarlitsky, a well-known public figure and political activist. Currently, Ksenia is the main organizer of the charity festival "Freedom Zone," aimed at supporting the relatives of political prisoners.
+ Anastasia Astakhova, a political activist and artist, organizer of the charity festival "Freedom Zone" in Paris. She was forced to leave Russia due to persecution for her activism.
Speakers:
+ Nadezhda Skochilenko, mother of Aleksandra Skochilenko, who was sentenced to 7 years in a penal colony for anti-war actions in Russia. Nadezhda was forced to leave the country shortly after her daughter's arrest and moved to France, where her eldest daughter and grandchildren live. After relocating, Nadezhda has been raising awareness about the situation of political prisoners in Russia and publicly supports her daughter by speaking at international platforms and protests.
