?We live in a time of profound chaos—marked by relentless wars, climate change, mass extinctions, and systemic injustice. Simultaneously, we grapple with inner turmoil, including fear, grief, anger, and despair, driven by both personal and collective pain. Remaining conscious and engaged in such times demands more than just courage.

?By acknowledging and honoring our feelings about the world, we come to see how the external crises and our internal struggles reflect each other. This awareness highlights our deep interconnection with other human brings and more-than-human beings on this planet. Just as the world seeks equilibrium, so do we. Our inner work can contribute to the healing of the Earth. It is crucial for us to ground ourselves in the web of life and cultivate resilience to participate in the transformative process from the Industrial Growth society to the Great Turning.

?The Work That Reconnects, developed by Joanna Macy, integrates foundational teachings from Buddhism, Deep Ecology, Deep Time, Spiritual Traditions, and the Undoing of Oppression. It provides a transformative journey that explores our interdependence and connection to the Earth. This workshop will guide us through the phases of the Spiral of the Work—Gratitude, Honoring Our Pain for the World, Seeing with New Eyes, and Going Forth. These phases cultivate our resilience and strengthen our connection to inner resources through experiential practices such as group work, meditations, voice dialogue, rituals, and nature-based activities. By deepening our understanding of our place and relationship with the Earth, we can foster both personal and collective transformation during these turbulent times.

Having lived in different parts of the world (China, Japan, Nepal, South America, and Finland), Ying is on a constant learning journey in the entanglement with the diversity and beauty of nature.

The beauty of nature deeply inspires her, fueling her passion to merge education with ecology. She believes that by weaving our lives with the delicate ecosystems that sustain us, we can gain a richer understanding of our world. Her life calling is to support the healing of both ecological and social systems by re-connecting and re-membering the innate self in nature. She has been mainly facilitating eco-themed educational projects and healing projects among youth and activists. Currently working on a PhD project about life purpose in Finland, she is also engaged in eco-spirituality, more-than-human education, and eco-activism through various learnings and events.
