Return to Lacywood! June 13 Saturday – 8 am to noon, please arrive at 7:45 am

After our heroic multi-month reclamation of the JJ Beeman Trail, we return to the Lacywood Overlook Trail.
This may be our last restoration day until October, since Dallas Parks & Rec requests we not work trails when it's over 85 degrees due to health risks. So we're doing Lacywood which is a short jaunt back to cars and air-conditioning. Please attend!
Our tasks:
<> Reclaim trail from encroaching privet. We've had a lot of regrowth from cut privet and it's making the trail hard to walk in spots.
<> Destroy privet seedlings in Lodgepole Woods #2. Easy work with a horticultural vinegar sprayer.
<> Brainstorm installing steps on ascent to ridgetop where the trail is too steep.
<> Check out the DWU corridor below the overlook and make sure hikers can get through the weeds to reach trails to Renda Meadow and Scyene Overlook. Need someone with a machete.
<> With luck, our wayfinding signs will be ready by then and we'll install them.
