We have all felt that deep sense of awe and peace when surrounded by nature. There is something uniquely healing about being outdoors in a place of beauty where we can slow down, breathe deeply, and find rest.We would like you to join us for a half day retreat designed for individuals who have experienced the loss of a loved one. In partnership with Keystone Hospice, we will explore the healing connection between grief and the natural world through education, reflection, and an optional service time after lunch.
What to Expect:
Education and Group Conversation
Keystone Hospice staff (a Bereavement Counselor, Social Workers and Chaplains) will guide meaningful conversations about the role of nature in the grief process and offer practical tools you can carry with you in daily life.
Time in Nature
After our group session, you will have space to explore the refuge trails, observe wildlife, or sit quietly in stillness. Walk, reflect, meditate, journal, or simply notice the life around you.
Lunch and Optional Service
After the provided lunch, participants may also choose to give back to the Refuge in simple ways such as picking up litter, pulling weeds, assisting at the Visitor Center, or helping with other light tasks. Each activity supports the preservation of this special place for wildlife and future generations.
