MidCoast Watersheds Council and partners spent the last year documenting the restoration of two creeks in the Alsea basin, and it’s finally time to share the film with you! This visual journey through the Mill & Beaty Creeks and Starr Creek tells a story of partnerships, scientific discovery, and at the heart– a love for fish, wildlife, and our waterways. Throughout the night we’ll hear from featured partners from the film- Katie Ryan, Executive Director of The Wetlands Conservancy, will discuss why conserving land on an estuary like Alsea Bay helps to heal precious wildlife habitat and protects us against the impacts of climate change. Janet Landauer, who championed the restoration of her section of Mill Creek will be present to reflect on the groundbreaking work that transformed her simplified stream into complex array of channels and log structures that now welcome salmon back. Join MidCoast Watersheds Council on March 6th to enjoy food and drinks catered by Local Ocean, and celebrate two short films and a fantastic year of habitat restoration in the Alsea basin.Purchase your tickets today! https://www.eventbrite.com/e/midcoast-watersheds-council-alsea-basin-film-premiere-tickets-1219651182519?aff=oddtdtcreator
