Join us for our final session in the Winter Lecture Series with Marci Frederic. Marci will share some of her life experiences as a trans woman born and raised in Lincoln County. There will also be plenty of time for respectful questions and discussion. If you want to learn more about what life is like for a trans person and how to be a better ally, this lecture is for you. Marci is the founder and director of COCTC "Central Oregon Coast Trans Community," the first trans, gender expansive, and gender void support group on the Oregon coast. Marci was born in Toledo, Lincoln County, Oregon, in 1975. After 40 years of struggling with her own gender and sexual orientation experience, and finally coming to love herself and who she is, Marci decided to take the first steps toward her transition and the beautiful woman that we see today. She has been involved in several local organizations for the trans and queer communities to help improve the treatment the trans community has received in the health care system, as well as focusing on education and advocacy work to decrease the harm caused by healthcare providers, educators, and other community providers. Marci's main focus is helping support individuals in the community through her nonprofit by providing transitional support services for the trans, gender expansive, and gender void communities in Lincoln County and beyond.
This lecture is a safe space for people to learn and share. Participants will be expected to adhere to the Newport Parks and Recreation Department’s Code of Conduct or will be asked to leave.
Food available! The lecture starts at 6pm, but doors open at 5:30 for anyone who wants to order dinner delivered from Siren's Lure Teahouse and Bakery. You will be able to add your menu choices on during registration.
This presentation is otherwise free to attend if you are not ordering food.

Bow tie pasta in a garlic butter sauce with sundried tomatoes , basil and a grilled chicken breast. Served with garlic toast.
Taco Salad $13
Bed of green salad, pinto beans, ground beef, pico, cheese, tortilla strips and avocado. Serve with Thousand Island Dressing.
