About Your Instructor: Nirel Salazar
Nirel Salazar is a second-generation Filipino-American wellness entrepreneur, yoga teacher, and rest advocate working to educate and empower people to make rest a cornerstone of their holistic well-being. Specializing in Restorative Yoga, she integrates stillness, breath, sound healing, and cultural wellness practices to support deep rest, emotional release, and nervous system regulation.
After experiencing imposter syndrome, burnout, mental fatigue, and depression, Nirel discovered that wellness is not just about sleep - it's about tending to the mind, body, and spirit with intention. Yoga became a path to healing and reconnection, inspiring her to guide others in finding their own rhythm of rest and renewal.
Based in the San Francisco Bay Area, Nirel offers restorative yoga sessions and events that incorporate sound healing, Reiki, and other restorative practices to deepen relaxation and self-reflection. At the heart of her work is a belief that rest is both a personal and collective act: one that nurtures resilience and reclaims space for softness, especially in communities historically denied it.
