About this Event
San Leandro Creek-side Restoration Days
Help the Friends of San Leandro Creek in making the creek healthier and more resilient by volunteering your help to remove invasive plants at our upcoming Restoration Day.
Meet us at Chabot Park in San Leandro / Sylvan Circle off Estudillo Ave below the parking lot by the creek on Saturday, September 13th, 9:30AM - 12:30PM / Bring gloves, and gardening tools if you have them.
Over an acre of non-native plants (better known as weeds) has been removed at Chabot Park in San Leandro over the last 6 years. A native plant demonstration garden has also been created and has become a thriving example of what can grow in a riparian or creek-side habitat. This year we plan to continue our W**d pulling, and in November we begin to plant for the first time, native plant species along the banks of San Leandro Creek.
