This FREE event is all about promoting practical ways for Black and Brown community members to practice rest. This event is led by Shakira Eakins, LCSW, RYT, Joi McGowan, LPC, and Alma Kivi, LPC.
Together we believe that rest is the way to heal, maintain hope, and continue our work in advocacy for a more just world. Join us! Register in advance!

Info: Check- in as early as 1:10pm. Bring your mat and water bottle. Pens and paper will be provided for any journaling you may want to do.

Info: Joi and Alma will lead the group in a meditation to focus our minds.

Yoga Nidra: Led by Shakira Easkins, LCSW
Info: Yoga Nidra is a guided meditation of slow yoga moves to help promote deep relaxation and recovery. Community members will experience being still and restful in their bodies.

Community Mental Health Talk-Back
Info: Shakira, Joi, and Alma will lead a community mental health talk back designed to help discuss the joys and pains of our advocacy work. Designed to help participants journal and reflect on ways they can keep tuning into their body and their community for support and strength.
