Supporting anglophone clients experiencing IPV/DV in France
About this Event

An in person workshop aimed at Paris-based Anglophone clinicians and practitioners whose France-based Anglophone clients (child/adult) may be experiencing or disclose Intimate Partner Violence and/or Domestic Violence. We hope to be able to support people experiencing this situation through indirect training of the front-line professionals to whom they may disclose this information.

Full day training, with a morning focused on legal aspects - what is the system in France, what resources are available, and what are the realities of people reporting IPV/DV in France? This will be led by two very experienced French lawyers who have significant expertise in this area, Maitre Choralyne Dumesnil and Maitre Lorraine Questiaux.

The afternoon will focus on the clinical aspects of these disclosures, from best practice and clinical models to case studies, and self-care as clinicians. This will be led by a highly experienced clinical psychologist, Karen Sadlier. She is a doctor in clinical psychology, project consultant for the Observatoire des violences envers les femmes de Seine-Saint-Denis and member of the children's working group of the Mission interministérielle pour la protection des femmes victimes de violences et la lutte contre la traite des êtres humains (MIPROF). Jill Bourdais, an American clinical psychologist with extensive experience supporting women in this area, will also be sharing her expertise.

Tea, coffee and biscuits to be provided; participants are requested to bring their own lunch or can of course eat locally (e.g. 1 min from location, Amundi, Italian restaurant, 22 rue de Jessaint).
