A listening-room Afro-Jazz experience for people who appreciate culture, elegance, and depth. Resonance is a curated cultural evening.
About this Event

Resonance at Convivium is an intimate, luxury live music experience where culture, sound, and refined dining meet in a powerful dialogue. Set within the elegant atmosphere of Convivium Restaurant in Toronto, this curated evening invites guests into a focused listening environment—designed not as background entertainment, but as a shared artistic journey.

Rooted in Congolese rhythmic traditions and shaped by contemporary jazz harmony and improvisation, the music bridges Africa and the world. Layered vocal textures, dynamic instrumentation, and storytelling create a deeply immersive experience that moves between strength and vulnerability, rhythm and reflection.

Guests can expect world-class musicianship, emotional depth, and a refined ambiance that encourages connection. With limited seating, Resonance preserves exclusivity and acoustic intimacy—allowing every note, every silence, and every vibration to be felt fully.

This is an evening for those who value authenticity, excellence, and cultural depth.

Jonathan Nvita – Biography

Jonathan Nvita is a Toronto-based singer, composer, and multi-instrumentalist born in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo. Blending African rhythmic language with modern jazz harmony, his music reflects both his Congolese heritage and his formal training in voice and sound recording in Canada.

His debut album, Mosisa (meaning “the roots”), is a powerful exploration of identity, ancestry, and the spiritual connection between past and present. The project establishes his signature sound—rich vocal textures, rhythm-driven arrangements, and improvisational depth—while affirming his commitment to cultural dialogue.

Deeply influenced by church, family, and African oral traditions, Jonathan approaches his craft with the conviction that music is spiritual—a force that connects memory, identity, and humanity beyond borders. His compositions explore resilience, hope, and belonging, inviting audiences into a space where Africa resonates with the world.
