The WI organisation isn’t just about education, having fun and socialising with friends (although it’s great at all of those). It’s also about being able to make a difference to the lives of women and their communities; if you didn’t know, the WI is also big on campaigning. In January we each get to have a say in what the resolution for this year is… and, if that’s the most popular resolution countrywide, it could become an official WI campaign. Think ‘Keep Britain Tidy’, or the banning of smoking in public places. Or trying to combat the tons of plastic waste in our oceans. These all had their beginnings in a WI campaign.After we’ve made our choices, we’ll have a fun social evening, dividing into teams to play Articulate. All very informal.
