Doing an amazing resin pour on a solid wood dragon head substrate
About this Event

Creating with resin is amazing and the possibilities are endless - really!

Each participant is provided with a large 2'x14" baltic birch dragon head to decorate with resin. You get to choose your colour scheme for the dragon head so please give that some thought in advance of the class. As you know, there are endless ideas for the outcome of your art piece as each one of you will undoubtedly have a different idea in mind that you want to create with no two EVER the same.

Three or four basic techniques for resin will be demonstrated by your Creative Coach and you will be given ample time and product to practice these prior to doing your final pour on your art piece so that alleviates the pressure of not being confident with how things will go. This way you can test your colour combination choices as well as have the opportunity to see how resin flows and blends etc. Your Creative Coach BerylAnne will do a demonstration and teach how to prep, mix resin (huge variety of various colour pastes, mica powders, colour shift mica, etc. will be available for you to choose from); move resin and how to control it to give you a desired result with a favourite layering technique I've developed to get the amazing depth effect on the resin.

*PLEASE NOTE: Resin requires a minimum of 12 hours to cure so you won't be able to take your project home with you the same day.

This is a teaching workshop and considered intermediate level where previous experience using resin is required. No one under the age of 18 is allowed to attend unless preapproved by the workshop coordinator (please contact BerylAnne 403.483.7270). Dress in old clothing because resin is impossible to remove once on your clothes (aprons and gloves are provided).

Refreshments such as pop, water, coffee & tea and prepackaged treats like chocolate bars & chips are included but feel free to bring your snack/beverage if you want.

Lower level studio location so you will need to be able to go up and down one flight of stairs (with bannister) independently.

All supplies are included in the cost of the workshop.

Preferred registration is by etransfer to [email protected] or through our ticketing agent, Eventbrite
