The Open Space Institute (OSI) and Cornell Cooperative Extension (CCE) have partnered on the Resilient Communities Initiative, which is intended to guide and support Port Jervis residents in the development of climate-smart strategies, such as land protection and management of natural resources that can address and mitigate the impacts of extreme weather, such as flooding and extreme heat. This Resilient Port Jervis Action Group meets on a regular basis to work on nature-based solutions to help prevent flooding. Meetings are open to the public.
