Experience the power of Mozart’s last great masterwork, the Requiem in D minor, performed live at The Stockey Centre for the Performing Arts in Parry Sound by the Whispering River Orchestra & Chorus. This celebration of Parry Sound's creative community in art and music is curated by Artistic Director Brenda Margaret Muller, and conducted by special guest Dr. Joshua Wood.Music by Beethoven, Sibelius, and Canadian concert music by Parry Sound Singer's Director Len Ballantine and Whispering River Orchestra's concertmaster, Veda Hingert-McDonald make this inspiring concert relevant and firmly rooted in community.
Guest soloists include Amy Dodington (a native of Port Carling), Parry Sound's own Celine Cascanette, Fabián Arciniegas, WRM's beloved vocal clinician and frequent guest artist, and Parry Sound Choral Collective's Director, and the Organist at St. James Centennial United Church, William McArton.
Plus a beautiful small exhibit of selected art by renowned Canadian artist and McKellar resident, Reed Weir, and her late father, Bert Weir.
