About this Event
We invite you to join us on Tuesday, April 29, 2025, for the Not-for-Profit Essentials: Reporting of Contribution Revenue and Fundraising Events webinar. Accounting for contributions is widely regarded as one of the most complex aspects of not-for-profit bookkeeping. In this workshop, we will dedicate a much of our time to this topic. You will gain a thorough understanding of how to account for various types of contributions and grants, including pledges, non-cash gifts, and more. Additionally, we will delve into the complexities of restricted and conditional gifts, as well as planned giving arrangements.
In the second half of the session, we will focus on tax reporting the requirements for contributions and fundraising events. You will learn how to accurately report these on Form 990 and Schedule G, with a clear explanation of key concepts such as fair market value, the deductible portion of contributions, and the reasons fundraising events are often reported as a loss. We will also touch on gaming activities and review the essential requirements for donor acknowledgment letters.
