Venez arranger une chanson traditionnelle francophone à travers un atelier ouvert à tous les niveaux et guidé par l'artiste Myriam Gendron (Montréal). Au programme : chants et création musicale par des approches originales (tubes à vents, enregistrements de bruits dans la salle, mouvement, voix). Ensemble, vous créerez une pièce unique.
Les enfants doivent être accompagnés d'un adulte. Veuillez réserver 1 billet par personne.

Song creation
Come arrange a traditional French-language song in a workshop open to all levels and led by the artist Myriam Gendron (Montreal). The workshop will include singing and music-making using unconventional approaches (wind tubes, recording sounds in the room, movement, voice). Together, you will create a unique piece.
Kids must be accompanied by an adult. Please RSVP 1 ticket per person.

Mayday est le troisième album de l'artiste montréalaise Myriam Gendron. Il fait suite à ses précédents albums, tous acclamés par la critique, Not So Deep As A Well (2014) et Ma délire – Songs of love, lost & found (2021). Avant son premier album, Myriam se produisait principalement dans les stations de métro parisiennes, interprétant des chansons de Leonard Cohen et d'autres artistes, en s'accompagnant à la guitare. À travers, son expérience de travail dans une librairie Montréalaise, Myriam a découvert les poèmes de l'écrivaine américaine Dorothy Parker, plus connue pour son esprit caustique que pour ses vers. Inspirée par les mots de Parker, Myriam a composé une musique pour accompagner une série de poèmes, puis a enregistré le résultat dans sa chambre. Ces enregistrements ont été publiés sous la forme de son premier album et continuent de ravir les auditeurs qui les découvrent, par leur fraîcheur, leur clarté et leur humour. Après une brève pause, Myriam a commencé à explorer les traditions folkloriques complexes du Québec (et au-delà), enregistrant le double album Ma délire, qui combine des chansons traditionnelles et originales (principalement en français) avec des arrangements qui laissent place à des interludes musicaux avant-gardistes de musiciens tels que le guitariste Bill Nace (Body/Head) et le célèbre percussionniste de jazz Chris Corsano.

Mayday is the third LP by Montreal-based artist, Myriam Gendron. It follows her earlier, critically acclaimed albums, Not So Deep As A Well (2014) and Ma délire – Songs of love, lost & found (2021).Prior to her debut album, Myriam's primary musical focus was busking in Paris Metro stations, performing the songs of Leonard Cohen and others, accompanying herself on guitar. Through her day job, working at a Montreal bookstore, Myriam discovered the poems of American writer, Dorothy Parker, who was better known for her cutting wit than her verse. Inspired by Parker's words, Myriam wrote music to accompany a suite of them, then recorded the results in her bedroom. These recordings were issued as her debut LP, and continue to delight listeners who discover them, with their freshness, clarity and humor.After a brief hiatus, Myriam began exploring the complex folk traditions of Quebec (and beyond), recording the 2LP, Ma délire, which combines traditional and original songs (largely in French) with arrangements that make space for avant-garde musical interludes by such folks as guitarist Bill Nace (Body/Head) and renowned jazz percussionist Chris Corsano
