International opera sensation Renée Fleming tirelessly advocates for research at the intersection of arts, health and neuroscience. Her anthology, Music and Mind: Harnessing the Arts for Health and Wellness, is a collection of essays from leading scientists, artists, creative arts therapists, educators and physicians about the powerful impacts of music and the arts on health and the human experience.Fleming will be joined by the following panelists onstage for a discussion on the topic:
- Enrique Chi, Art as Mentorship Founder and Making Movies Founder
- Rebecca Lepping, KU Neurology PROMUS Lab Director, KU Medical Center
- Anne Palmer, Center for Arts & Wellbeing and International Arts + Mind Lab
University of Kansas Music Therapy Professor, Deanna Hanson-Abromeit, will moderate the panel discussion.
The panel discussion event on April 16 is free and open to the public and presented in conjunction with Fleming's Lied Center concert on April 17 (ticketed event).
