Join us to honour lost species with gratitude, ceremony, community and sharing. We will be walking from the Climate Hub at The Mansion to the Totnes Life Cairn on the upper path to Sharpham. This is a free event, and all are welcome. Bring a stone or an offering to place on the cairn.
Remembrance Day for Lost Species is marked internationally, and we have observed it in Totnes for several years, interrupted only by the Covid pandemic. It’s an annual opportunity to explore the stories of extinct and critically endangered species, cultures, ways of life, and ecological communities, whilst acknowledging that these losses may be rooted in violent and discriminatory governing practices, the day provides an opportunity to make or renew our commitments to all that remains, and to develop creative and practical solutions.
Meet at 9.45am at Totnes Climate Hub and leave at 10am to walk to Totnes Life Cairn. It’s about one-and-a-half miles to the Cairn.
