How do you remember? To commemorate the contributions of the fallen (from the Frist World War to Afghanistan) from Wellington County, over 500 memorial markers are placed on the front lawn at the Wellington County Museum and Archives. Join us for two important events in November.
The Remembrance Ceremony happens on November 5 as Royal Canadian Legion members read each of the names of the fallen from Wellington County. The ceremony will take place outdoors on the front lawn. A reception with light refreshments will follow the ceremony.
On November 10, at 5:00 pm, a remembrance candle is placed at each of the over 500 memorial markers as a tribute to the fallen from Wellington County in the Candle Lighting Ceremony. Candles are provided and will remain lit until November 12. All are encouraged to attend.
