About this Event
Join us for a special meet & greet with Billy Mills, Native American Olympic Gold Medalist.
Billy, a member of the Oglala Sioux Tribe, was born and raised on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in South Dakota. In 1964, he won an Olympic Gold Medal in the 10,000-meter race, a race that is often considered the greatest upset in Olympic history. He is the co-founder and National Spokesperson for Running Strong for American Indian Youth, a national nonprofit working to empower Native American youth across the nation by meeting critical needs, revitalizing culture and language, and supporting them in pursuit of their dreams.
Billy Mills alongside "Remaining Native" film participant and distance runner Kutoven Stevens will be signing free copies of "Wings of an Eagle" and "Remaining Native" movie posters. Come for light bites and refreshments and a photo op with Billy!
Remaining Native will be screening at the Alamo Lamar Theater at 8:45PM following the event featuring a special q&a with Billy and Ku!
