A forward-looking discussion drawing parallels between historic civil rights struggles and contemporary issues, including Christian nationalism and religious pluralism today.
Join us for an engaged evening for the necessary work of understaning the context for which our nation was conceived. We will have refreshments and a welcoming community gathering!

In 2026, communities across the United States will mark the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence. This milestone offers an opportunity to reflect not only on the nation’s founding ideals, but on how those ideals have been tested, expanded, and contested over time. Among them, few are as vital or as complex as religious liberty.
The Center for Interfaith Cooperation is honored to launch our Pilgrim Pairs Project: Exploring Faith and Religious Liberty, made possible through support from the Lilly Endowment. This project invites Central Indiana residents into a deep, honest, and community-centered exploration of religious liberty: where it began, how it has evolved, and why it matters so urgently today.
