Programme
Singer Trudy Kerr, accompanied by her son Louis and pianist Thomas Sladden, will present a delightful, family-friendly jazz set at St James in Piccadilly on 31st January. When Trudy’s children were young, she created the charming album called Jazz for Juniors. The album is an engaging compilation of 18 lively, jazz-style tracks designed especially for young listeners and their families to enjoy together. Blending playful sing-along opportunities with educational flair, the record invites children to explore the rhythms and joys of jazz in a fun, interactive way.
Expect a selection of familiar tunes and lively standards—songs like “Sing, Sing, Sing,” “L-O-V-E,” and What a Wonderful World”—all performed with warmth and enthusiasm. Trudy’s vocal style is both gentle and lively, making jazz easy to enjoy and memorable for the whole family. It’s a fantastic opportunity for families to experience jazz up close, with melodies that invite both children and adults to hum, sway, and connect through music.
