Programme
Join two of the most exciting figures on the UK jazz scene for a performance of rich Brazilian rhythms and exhilarating improvisation in the stunning acoustic of St James’s Church, Piccadilly. Drummer and composer Rod Oughton – named one of the UK’s ‘most exciting players’ by Jazzwise Magazine – is joined by acclaimed tenor saxophonist Harry Brunt, whose work has been described as “intelligent, frequently quirky” (The Jazz Mann) and “delicately thunderous… prioritising sensitivity and lyricism” (Jazzwise).
Artist Bio
Brunt’s expressive saxophone voice has helped define some of London’s most adventurous ensembles, and his compositions reflect both thoughtful craftsmanship and emotional depth. Together with Oughton – long-time collaborator and fellow innovator – the duo explore samba, bossa nova, and contemporary Brazilian-inspired jazz with spontaneity and adventurous interplay.
