About this Event

45th Annual Arts Awards | July 11th | 5:30-7:30 PM @ NXTHVN.

Tickets are on sale NOW!

The Arts Council of Greater New Haven exists to weave together the creative ecosystem of our region — connecting artists, organizations, and communities across 16 towns and cities so that culture can thrive. On July 11th, we gather to celebrate those who are reimagining what's next.

THIS YEAR'S HONOREES ARE:

Legacy Award - Emalie Mayo

Newt Schenck Lifetime Achievement Award - Marcella Monk Flake

Arts Awards - Charlie Grady, Titus Kaphar, Elm Shakespeare Company, Linda Mickens, and Candyce "Marsh" John

They are disrupting form, building new pathways, and reshaping the cultural landscape itself. You chose these awardees, and now we invite you join us in giving them a party they'll never forget!

This celebration takes place at NXTHVN, surrounded by Glory ; a stunning exhibition honoring Black American domestic life, memory, and identity. We invite you to explore the exhibit during the event and ask: what does it mean to reimagine a creative community, and who makes that possible?

That question is personal for us right now. The Arts Council has faced real financial hardship this year, the kind that tests whether an organization can continue playing its role as the connective tissue of a regional arts ecosystem. This event is a celebration first, but it's also a fundraiser, and your ticket purchase is a direct investment in our ability to keep weaving this community together and reimagining what it can become.
