About :

The monogamous nuclear family is rapidly evolving -- today, less than 20% of US households resemble this structure. Despite this, our legal, financial, housing, and social systems are still designed primarily for monogamous nuclear families, creating obstacles for forming, sustaining, and growing families that exist outside this structure. The Modern Family institute conducts research on the demographics and needs of diverse family and relationship structures in order to create major shifts in legal rights, social norms, policies, and clinical practices that help people build and sustain flourishing families. They also serve as subject matter experts in support of impactful, data-driven policy reform to foster a more inclusive and supportive environment for modern families and relationships.
