What if healing could also be remembrance?
Join us for Reiki & Resonance: Honoring Our Ancestors — a bilingual candlelight Reiki sound bath to honor the love, wisdom, and energy of those who came before us.
This month’s gathering features Denisse of @buenavidavibes, guiding us in meditation in both Spanish and English. Together, we’ll weave energy, sound, and reflection into a heartfelt evening of remembrance and renewal.
What to Expect
We’ll begin with a grounding meditation and a gentle introduction to Reiki and sound healing, inviting you to connect with your breath and your heart.
You’ll then be guided through a Reiki-infused sound bath, surrounded by the soothing tones of crystal bowls, chimes, and other healing instruments. Expect to experience deep relaxation, energetic release, and a sense of peace and connection — both within yourself and with the lineage of love that continues through you.
We’ll also share moments for journaling, quiet reflection, and optional sharing, followed by light refreshments and community connection.
You’re invited to bring a photo, letter, or small item for our community altar — a sacred space to honor loved ones who have transitioned.
What Is Reiki?
Reiki is a gentle, hands-on (or hands-off) energy healing practice that promotes balance, relaxation, and emotional clarity.
It’s a non-religious, heart-centered modality that channels universal life energy through the practitioner’s hands to support the body and spirit’s natural ability to heal.
Many people experience warmth, tingling, or a deep sense of calm during a Reiki session — but each experience is unique and personal.
What Is a Sound Bath?
A sound bath is a meditative experience where participants are “bathed” in sound waves produced by instruments like crystal singing bowls, chimes, and gongs.
These resonant frequencies help slow brain waves, soothe the nervous system, and invite deep inner stillness.
You’re welcome to lie down or sit comfortably — pews will be available for rest, or you may bring your yoga mat, blanket, and pillow for full relaxation.

This gathering is open to anyone feeling called to pause, reflect, and honor the journey that has brought them here.

Building Logistics
The Sanctuary is located past the first building on the Alum Rock UMC property — it’s the back building on site.
There is parking available behind the first building. You’ll see signs and candles outside the Sanctuary to help guide you in.
Please arrive a few minutes early to settle in and create a peaceful start to your evening.
