Below are reviews from some previous attendees of the programme.
"I have seen first hand the confidence in the new managers grow over the last few months. The content of the course has been absolutely on point! By this I mean helping new managers navigate through what can be a scary and anxiety provoking role. The content has relieved some of the anxieties regarding the inspection process and the Regulation 45 report and other competing demands of the role.
Both of the managers have been eager to attend each monthly sessions. My view is this course is a MUST for any new managers, deputy managers, shift leaders,"
“I have loved every session, Rebecca and Sally were amazing and really supportive, they have shared their knowledge and experiences to help me become a better leader and made the sessions much more enjoyable, it has been a great opportunity for me to be able to come and meet other managers and share our own or similar experiences which has been very reassuring for myself. I have come away with loads of resources and handouts which I can use to help develop my team, I have more understanding of my role and responsibilities and feel as though I have grown in confidence since doing this course. I would definitely recommend this course to any new managers in a residential home”
“I have attended all the session run by Rebecca and Sally. The training was very informative and knowledgeable.
The passion that you both feed to others on working with children and young people is aspirational. It’s been fantastic to have training from you both who have the same vision and passion that I have also and having a deeper understanding. I have gain confidence in myself and my abilities. I will miss the session and you both so thank you”
“This course has been amazing, so much knowledge shared and such a great opportunity to meet like minded people. I am finishing with a course full of new ideas and buzzing to get them all implemented to my role. The trainers have so much to share and with the sole focus being how we can all improve to help the children we work for. I would recommend it to anyone. Only criticism is I wish it was closer to home so I could build connections with people in my local area but the fact I know I do now have some amazing people I can contact and ask for advice, help and 'what form do you use for.....?, how do you record.....?' is so great. Thank you”
“Overall the training has been invaluable. It is tailored to all managers whether new or experienced and provides great in depth knowledge of our roles.
The training was engaging and thought provoking and provided great and inspiring speakers with lived experience. It encourages group discussion, shared experiences as a group where you can obtain a range of new ideas.
Both Rebecca and Sally share their experiences from managing homes to undertaking inspections and this provides great insight for inspection. They both operate with enthusiasm and it is evident that they want to have a positive impact not only on managers but the young people we support.
The training removes the myths of children’s homes and allows you to think more creatively particularly around recording that are more child centred in our homes.
Overall, I’ve enjoyed every training session over the last 6 months and every session has provided me with much more knowledge around my role as a registered manager.
Thank you!!”
