About this Event
Join us at LCCM on Thursday 2nd October for the launch of The Reggae Museum Exhibition, a celebration of the rich history, cultural impact, and global influence of Reggae music. Previously hosted by The British Library for Beyond the Bassline, we’re honoured to welcome it now to LCCM.
Recognised by UNESCO as a World Heritage treasure, Reggae has shaped music, fashion, and language worldwide. This exhibition brings that story to life, spotlighting the pioneers, evolution, and enduring legacy of the genre – from its Jamaican roots to its profound impact on British culture and beyond.
The museum is the vision of Colin Robinson, renowned Reggae entrepreneur and producer, who has worked with legends such as Maxi Priest, Sanchez, Sugar Minott, Janet Kay, John Holt, and Desmond Dekker. His lifelong dedication ensures that Reggae’s influence is preserved and celebrated for generations to come.
✨ Expect an evening of culture, community, and connection – plus a free drink on entry to toast the launch.
🎶 Followed by the - a freestyle night for rappers, singers and producers.
