About this Event
To celebrate the start of Refugee Week 2026 and Refugee Buddy Project’s Recipes of Courage Food Festival we are bringing people together for an evening of food and friendship.
Through the power of food we will honour the dishes that embody stories of resilience, memory and home. Local chefs and families will serve up some of their favourite recipes with all guests invited to share their own stories.
The ticket price will cover dinner, drinks and a takeaway copy of a special ‘recipes of courage’ community cookzine we’re putting together.
If you’d like to contribute a recipe please send it to [email protected] before 1st June. You can send it on its own or ideally together with what it means to you. Pictures or photos also very welcome.
All profits from the meal and zine will be donated to Refugee Buddy Project.
About Refugee Buddy Project
The Refugee Buddy Project is a refugee and migrant-led, registered charity supporting families and individuals through buddying, advocacy, financial and emotional support for the most vulnerable in our community. Since 2017, the charity has expanded their support to Rother and Wealden, as well as Hastings. Increased support for people in the asylum system the project also works with the wider community of people seeking refuge in Hastings who are in the home office asylum dispersal scheme, in which people are still in the process of claiming asylum
