About this Event
Refresh, Recharge, and Exchange Energy— Two events in one! Come for one or enjoy both!
We kick things off with Tai Chi Fundamentals® . Tai Chi, a form of qigong, integrates mind, body, and spirit in harmony with the world. This gentle, low-impact practice builds strength without stressing the joints, cultivating balance and inner peace rather than brute force. Combining body mechanics with energy awareness, Tai Chi uses breath, hand focus, qi sensing, and Wu Ji to boost vitality or restore calm.
Taught by Marilyn Carpenter, this session will be tailored to the participants to provide a few basic moves progressing from simple moves for practicing almost anytime during the day, even if just for a few minutes.
Give with compassion, support with kindness - This event is "Donate from the Heart". (A suggested donation is between $10-30).
1pm-2pm: Refresh and Recharge with Tai Chi Fundamentals® Movement
Flowing like water, tai chi harmonizes mind & body, weaving tranquility & strength into every gentle movement. Experience it for yourself! Reap the benefit of cultivating energy with others, using gentle movements.
Improving balance and strength is beneficial to those new to Tai Chi and those refining their practice by focusing on basic movements.
2pm-3pm: Unwind, Align, & Coordinate: Experience Alexander Technique
We will explore using the Alexander Technique as a means to improve your ease and reduce stress. Experience it yourself and observe others. Experiment and practice at home a few minutes a day, and observe results.
The Alexander Technique (AT) is a method that people of all ages and abilities can learn to relieve pain and stress caused by everyday misuse of the body, The Technique is an educational process which can improve our functioning by changing the way we think. It has been used all over the world for more than a century, by people from all walks of life, from famous actors to musicians with RSI or tendonitis, to computer users and athletes with chronic back problems to support their efforts to feel better and improve their general level of functioning. By being curious and willing to experiment, we can explore this for ourselves, though this is not a replacement for professional medical assistance which should be sought out as needed.
This is a live event being held at the The Loft Space in Allison Park (3940 Middle Rd Suite A; Allison Park, PA 15101). Located above the Three Little Birds Cafe & Juice Bar.
