REFLETS QUARTET - FRIDAY JAZZ + AFTER DJ SETReflets Quartet is the natural continuation of the secret duo formed during lockdown by guitarists Louis Martinez and Jean-Marc Floury.�Louis Martinez, founder and artistic director of the Jazz à Sète festival, and Jean-Marc Floury, whose style sits somewhere between jazz and blues, have built a strong musical friendship over the past 25 years.�Despite their stylistic differences, both share a deep sense of improvisation, melody, and groove.
During lockdown, instead of silence, they chose to converse through music — and it paid off.�From this dialogue was born a smooth, luminous album filled with subtle flights, fine precision, and rich rhythmic variety.�On their Belgian tour, they’re joined by a rhythm section that’s pure class: Sal La Rocca on double bass and Jan De Haas on drums.�Their quest for beautiful sound and precision highlights the melodic lines of the two composers from Sète.
The quartet’s repertoire, supported by refined arrangements, consists mainly of original compositions by Martinez and Floury.�Their melodies touch on the essence of human emotion — inspired by tango, blues, soul, funk, Debussy, and bossa nova — they immerse us in an intimate world of deep feeling from the very first notes.
