A reflective space for qualified psychologists to think about themselves and their work environments.
For the purpose of this space a qualified psychologist is considered to be someone qualified at doctoral level in clinical or counselling psychology (including those newly/recently qualified).
The group is a space to explore systemic and structural work dynamics as well as process clinical and professional issues; to reflect on issues of the interface of the personal and professional including our relationship with leadership, power, position and privilege; along with sharing academic understandings, and importantly to receive emotional support when navigating the complexities of working as a qualified clinical or counselling psychologist .
Each session lasts for ninety minutes. Within the session the group members will be invited to volunteer to briefly share a professional situation for the group to discuss. With a maximum of two situations per session. Who shares is decided at the beginning of each session determined by whoever would like to or, if more than one or two volunteers, who is most urgent.
This group was set up with the hope to begin to address the need for spaces where psychologists are able to speak openly, explore ideas and think together about some of the complexities of roles; and where local service politics and professional politics can also be contained sufficiently to allow them to be observable and reflected on.
This is a closed group experience running for a 10 week block.
The fee is £ 250 per block (£25 per session).
Group members are asked to commit to attending the block of sessions to encourage a safe space and continuity in group dynamics; as such there are no refunds on missed sessions.
There is a maximum of Eight people in this group.
Dates are: 19/01; 26/01; 02/02; 09/02; 16/02; 23/02; 02/03; 09/03; 16/03; 23/03.
