REFLECTION MEDIA & ART PRESENTS - REFLECTION#3 – “The Drugs Don’t Work”

On Friday 30th August Daylight Robbery - who brought you ‘House is a Feeling’ at the former IKEA building during UK City of Culture – presents REFLECTION#3 - “The Drugs Don’t Work”. An uncensored immersive experience to be staged at the world-famous New Coventry Cathedral. Set within areas of the spectacular building never seen by the general public.

We take you back to 20th century Coventry and document the 1st all night jungle events to ever be stage outside of London. Taking place in December 1993 & January 1994, hosted by Jungle Fever in the historically acclaimed venue The Edge, formerly The Eclipse, just a few 100 metres from the cathedral.

This will be a theatrical version starring special guest Nev Fivey of Amnesia House, M.C Man Parris, Jungle Fever co-founder Richard Raindance and his former partner, the legendary Eastman of Kool F.M and Jungle Fever (tbc). Along with other important characters to be announced. Expect something very different as always with working class humour and theatre.

We will be taking big steps into using new technologies and art forms with our 1st animation, mixed with real time video. Man Parris - “To your vein, to your brain” is a drug education piece like nothing created before, as we deliver a 3D & holographic vision.

Using analogue technologies, digital sound, visual installations and cutting edge lazer displays by Reach Lasers, we plan to deliver our most ambitious piece of work to date. With support from the LTB collective with projection set up, sound equipment and tech by Jay Skinnfella and with décor designed and supported by Freaky Features.

After the 6 sellout theatrical performances when we staged ‘House Is A Feeling’ as part of the City Of Culture event, attracting 5000 visitors, early ticket purchase will be essential as the Cathedral has a much lower capacity. Ticket are priced at £10 per person ( + admin fee) and will be for entry at certain time slots to allow people to be able to enjoy the full immersive experience.

Reflection#3 – “The Drugs Don’t Work” is dedicated to Karen Bailey (Freaky Features). A massive part of our team over the years who sadly passed away last year. We will be using her design and her inspiration throughout the exhibition.
