Join us in our kickoff America250 celebration at the Red, White & Blue BBQ Fest and Parade. Featuring a community parade, amateur rib cook-off, children's activities, live entertainment and food trucks. The celebration will culminate with a spectacular fireworks show. Parade entry is FREE and steps off at 10am from Jillian Road and Park Station Blvd in Orland Park near Centennial Park West. Free children's activities including crafts, bounce houses, contests and DJ will follow at the Centennial Park West concert venue after the parade concludes through 1pm.
Get ready to fire up the grill! We are also seeking grill masters for the Village of Orland Park's first-ever Amateur Rib Cook-Off Competition. Whether you're a backyard barbecue master or just love the thrill of friendly competition, this event is the perfect opportunity to show off your rib recipe, secret sauce and grilling skills. Top three winners will be awarded. Entry fee is $100 and includes 10 slabs of ribs. Payment can be made online or mail a check to the Village of Orland Park, Recreation and Parks Department by Friday, May 8.
Get up-close and learn about Patriot, the bald eagle from the World Bird Sanctuary from 5-7pm. A variety of bands, food/drink vendors, and onsite sponsor giveaways will be available through 9pm with a magical firework show to follow!
Free parking is available in the Metra station parking lot located north of Jillian Rd. and Park Station Blvd. Additional over-flow event parking is located in the 153rd St. Metra Parking lot east of the train tracks at 10499 W 153rd St, Orland Park, Il 60462 and Centennial Park parking lots (15600 West Ave, Orland Park IL 60462). After parking, head west to the Metra underpass and south to event grounds (apprx .4miles).
There is ADA reserved parking available in the east section of the Metra West parking lot. Please take note, the venue is approximately .2 miles from the lot.
