On December 1st, World AIDS Day, Red Reminds Me, from Visual AIDS, features new work by Gian Cruz, Milko Delgado, Imani Harrington, David Oscar Harvey, Mariana Iacono and Juan De La Mar, Nixie, and Vasilios Papapitsios.
For Red Reminds Me DC, the Studio House at Walbridge is collaborating with Dandelion Collective, 3417 14th Street,NW () for an afternoon screening at 4pm, followed by a repast for the community at Studio House at Walbridge to reflect upon “Funebration,” video documentation by Maureen Leak of David Bethuel Jamieson’s memorial service at Wheelock Mountain Farm, October 9, 1992; digitized 2024 at the DC Library’s Memory Lab; and to discuss Red Reminds Me, the program of seven videos reflecting the emotional spectrum of living with HIV today.
A day of mourning and action that uses art to respond to the ongoing HIV and AIDS crisis, Day With(out) Art encourages museums, universities, museums, and art institutions to present related programming on or around December 1, World AIDS Day because AIDS is not over!
