About this Event
"Recycling in Florida" is a new, open-discussion class focused on the issues we face with recycling programs around the state. "Recycling in Florida" takes a deeper look at recycling, food waste, challenges and obstacles, and related environmental issues around the state of Florida.

Through group discussions and classroom learning, this class will frame the environmental issues facing our community, with the intent to create action steps moving forward. These discussions also will help shape future classes, events and projects offered by UF/IFAS Extension Sarasota County.
We aim to involve individuals passionate about protecting the environment and willing to work to make our community healthier, but welcome everyone interested in learning. The goal is to facilitate a discussion about the state of recycling.

- Residents with an interest in recycling and waste reduction
- Businesses looking to implement waste reduction programs
- Anyone with a general interest in the environment
- Anyone with an interest in becoming involved in community composting and recycling projects
