If you live in Wandsworth, then join me for this 2 hour masterclass in making your own vintage, paper collage!
Love anything vintage and recycled? Want to get creative, learn how to make an incredible piece of collage art by using secondhand, waste materials?
These special 2 collage sessions are sponspored by the Great Big Green Week 2023 and in collaboration with the incredible art'otel Battersea Power Station where the class will be hosted.
You’ll be shown how to:
- Work with different old paper materials such as vintage books, magazines, postcards etc. (There will be all sorts of themes available for you to craft with)
- How to make a selection for your own piece & how to construct a collage so it becomes one cohesive piece of art
- Different layering techniques and collage tips
- You'll experience how relaxing & inspiring it can be do make something with your hands - perfect for your mental health!
What exactly will we do?
We'll be making a piece of art from discarded papers - maybe you want to keep it yourself, maybe you're making it for a lovely friend or family member. You can bring your personal pictures if you'd like to include these in your piece.
What's included?
- 2 hours of tips & tricks, guidance with sourcing images, cutting, puzzle'ing and creating your artwork
- All the available vintage paper materials for you to make your collage with
- You'll get a white A4 picture mount to frame your artwork and take it home in
- Some light refreshments to keep you hydrated!
- A take home collage flyer full of tips & tricks
No experience is needed, every Wandsworth resident is welcome but the minimum required age will be 15+.
Location
The workshop will be at the stunning Art'Otel Battersea - opposite Battersea Power Station, it's a truly unique location and incredible for a beautiful day out.
Please bring a bag with you that can hold your artwork! (any tote bag or supermarket plastic bag would work).
