This is a fast-paced introduction to the absolute basics of paddling any short, wide, stable, open cockpit, or sit-on-top kayak on flat water. This should prepare you to paddle the lakes and most of the rivers in Iowa. You’ll learn how to land and launch, discover basic strokes, and discuss simple safety topics. Take this course if you are a beginner or want to feel more comfortable renting a kayak at one of our rentals. Price includes kayak, paddle, and lifejacket.
