Join us at Batemans Bay Library for a special hands-on weaving workshop in celebration of Reconciliation Week with talented Walbunja artist.
About this Event

Toni is an experienced weaver, and we are thrilled to have her share her skills and knowledge with our community. Toni will be using contemporary and traditional materials to weave, and the workshop will be facilitated with hand-dyed Raffia.

You will have the opportunity to make a pendant, a keyring, or a small handheld basket. Toni also generally gives the participants a needle or two and raffia to take home to finish their piece or start another one

In addition, participants will hear Toni’s cultural story of identity, family history, and traditional weaving knowledge and skills that have been taught to Toni by Aunty Deidre at Mummaga Lake on Yuin Country.

Our land, our people, our spiritual world are connected by our First Nation community passing their knowledge, skills, and stories onto all peoples so that they are not forgotten.

All materials provided.

Bookings are essential as spaces are limited.

Cost: $15 per person
