You're invited to a special Bible study, "Reclaiming the Sacred: A Biblical Study on 'Clobber Passages' and LGBTQ+ Affirmation," led by Rev. Rob. This study is a response to questions that arose from our Pride Month film screening and is part of the Pride in the Pews Black Church Equality Fellowship Project.We'll examine "clobber passages"—biblical texts often misinterpreted to condemn LGBTQ+ people—to gain a deeper, more affirming theological understanding. The goal is to move beyond rigid literalism to a faithful and responsible interpretation.
This study will help you confidently discuss LGBTQ+ affirmation and equip you with a new lens for engaging with scripture. Our aim is to foster a radically inclusive community where all feel welcome.
