A kick-off celebration of The Fund’s 30th Anniversary year with a special breakfast.We have accepted the Dare to Declare challenge for America250 through the Chester County Community Foundation. We’re putting the words of the Decalration of Indendence side by side with voices from the women’s and human rights movements. We will include Elizabeth Cady Stanton, Sojourner Truth, Frederick Douglass, and others.
The idea: The words of the Declaration of Independence 250 years ago laid out ideals worth believing in; however, they haven’t been a reality for everyone. And that gap is still very much with us.
The program will also include a short conversation with with mother and daughter Vernita Dorsey (WSFS Cares) and LaVante’ Dorsey (Dorsey & Associates), reflecting on what the promises of the Declaration of Independence look like in their lives today.
Lastly we’ll close by looking ahead. What does “tomorrow” require? We will share what we’re doing at The Fund, and how people can actually get involved in moving things forward toward liberty for all.
