Every summer, Multnomah County REACH works with the ACHIEVE Coalition, community partners and local vendors to host a series of gatherings celebrating Black and African culture, resilience and joy. This "creative place-making initiative" draws hundreds of participants every year for food, fun and community.Reclaiming Black Joy events offer a range of free activities including DJs and live music, poetry readings, hair braiding, haircuts, information on community resources, face painting, photo booths, vaccinations and more.
